Amanda Palmer's book, The Art of Asking is pretty darn compellling. It was full of insights to all creatives and was pretty mind-blowing to some of us. Amanda Palmer is a performance artist with the band The Dresden Dolls, now performing independently. She gave a great TED talk on how she became the largest recipient of crowd-funding for her music, which led to this book.
